„Capricho“ means whim, caprice or fancy, obstinacy and arbitrariness, and „Amor“, love, is the most sung-about, inexhaustible theme in flamenco.
„Capricho Amor revolves around the capricious romantic whims of a Spanish dance couple.
Partner dancing is a rather rare occurrence in flamenco. This distinctly individual form of dance expression cannot be easily paired. From the „I to the “You" leads a long and winding path that is literally taken under the feet of the dancers and must be traversed with challenging rhythms.
A colorful duel of love begins when dancers, singers, and musicians provoke one another. There is a fight for love. Much personal stubbornness and pride must be tamed in this courtship until a shared rhythm is established and the great love duet can begin.
It's me, my love,
who knocks on your door.
It's not the ghost, it's not
the one who stopped before
at your window.
I knock the door down,
I enter all of your life,
I come to live in your soul:
You can't handle me.
— Pablo Neruda
It's me, my love,
who knocks at the door.
Not the ghost, not the one,
which stopped earlier
at your window.
I bash the door in,
penetrate into your whole life,
come to dwell in your soul:
You can do nothing against me.
— Pablo Neruda
